Report to Mr. Prime Minister on the developement of the new forums:

The new forum seems to be well-organized and the general look is acceptable as well. Perhaps in the future we can get some cool backgrounds and graphics in.
The only problem with the forum is its rather daunting aspect for newcomers. When I first enter the forum's main page, I feel as if I'm being bombarded by nearly a dozen categories with descriptions in both languages. We should certainly keep the bilingual nature, but perhaps creating a smaller number of forum sub-sections would be wise (or at least simply creating a less intimidating organizational structure).
Besides that, I didn't notice any bugs when navigating the forum.
Another idea would be to have some sort of translation gadget on the forum. I'm not sure if forumotion would allow it, but perhaps when we're closer to game time we can include such a feature to help our unilingual members to better communicate.
Overall, it's looking good! From my experience, forumotion is the best free forum hosting service on the internet and the easiest to use, so I would be surprised if we ran into any major problems.

My initial report is that I have found no major glitches with the new forum at this time. Everything seems in place and clearly labeled. The absence of advertisements is also a very nice to see. Also this site is much, much faster than our other forum. However with that said I must say I agree with Alexcfr, it does seem a little overwhelming at first. I believe it may be due to a lack of a distinguished front page. Most forums that I frequent have a clear front page that either a) gives site related news, b) explains the role of the group that created the site or c) and interesting artistic piece to open the site. As of this time this is all I have to comment on. Thank you again for the opportunity to test the new forum.

P.S. I love this afro smiley afro Makes me smiles every time I see it.

I have just encountered my first problem in this new forum. I was testing the Avatar and signature options. My avatar picture is showing fine, but when I try to use my signature picture from the other forum I can not seem to get it to show. If any other tester could try this just to make sure that there is an actual problem and I have not somewhere made a mistake I would much appreciate it.

PostSubject: Forum organization...   Wed Apr 08 2009, 16:24

Forum organization is needed. Not every topic has its place in for exemple "Lounge". You've just seen the top of the iceberg in the new forum. It's way organized and more explained. Forum management is way less painful to manage and get around in setting up. The work of the alpha team is pick relevant topic from here and put it in the right one over there. For exemple, I will transfer one topic to show the team how I would like all to proceed... with testing.

If we're not organized, it will create chaos and it will be difficult to function.

How do you think the Government works? Everything has a purpose to accomplish.

As for the signature, I will check it out. If the picture is too big, it might not fit in. It has a limit to respect.

Greetings,

I will be taking a week of shore leave, if I want to be able to go see the new Star Trek on friday.

I am near completion of the forum. New parts of the forum will begin to unlock themselves to you as I proceed toward my final work.

I have 4 Departments to work on, mine included. I will do my own department at the end. I want the others to be ready before mine. I also need to make Groups. lots of them will be much needed to assure maximum efficiecy as well as Security. The chat is also available to use.

Thank you for your understanding and for listening.

Your PM.
